I've had this image in my files for quite some time, and I realized this morning as I was making revisions to the Villa Turicum website that I have never posted it here before:
It is a favorite because one can see Villa Turicum in it's entirety, and realize the magnitude of what Charles Platt was working with. What immediately amazed me is the length of the approach drive. Can you imagine? I often think about what it must have been like to drive that avenue; suddenly reaching the greensward mall (large enough itself at 100 feet in width and 500 feet in length) and seeing the house in the distance. Extraordinary.
